Run Modes

There are two ways to access the N|Solid UI: sign up for our SaaS platform and immediately begin sending data once you have the runtime installed, or purchase an Enterprise license and run the N|Solid Console Server in your own datacenter.

N|Solid SaaS versus N|Solid Enterprise On-Premise

With N|Solid SaaS you can sign up and begin sending immediately with the N|Solid Runtime without installing any other software. This provides the shortest path to trying out N|Solid with your application, and is well suited to grow with you for some time.

For especially large installations or situations with strict data requirements, an Enterprise license can be purchased and we will provide the N|Solid Console Server code and guidance for operation. Contact us for more information!

N|Solid SaaS

N|Solid SaaS is a hosted monitoring database and introspection console designed to make the ideal use of the diagnostics and monitoring features of the N|Solid Runtime. Once you have installed the N|Solid Runtime all you need to do is configure it with your NSOLID_SAAS key from NodeSource Accounts

SaaS Network Requirements and Data Sensitivity

Network Requirements:

In order to communicate with the N|Solid SaaS endpoint, the systems running the N|Solid Runtime will need to be able to make outgoing connections on ports 9001, 32001, 32002.

Data sensitivity:

Concerned about your data? So are we! Your data is encrypted over-the-wire, and the metrics collected do not contain PII or other sensitive information. For memory debugging, we strongly suggest using our NSOLID_REDACT_SNAPSHOTS feature if you have sensitive data and want to capture Heap Snapshots. This flag instructs the runtime to blank out all string data inside of Heap Snapshots prior to sending it to the N|Solid Console.

Self-Hosted N|Solid UI

We also can provide you with the software, instructions, and installation support to run your own N|Solid Server system so that you can run everything on-premise as well.

This mode of operation requires an ongoing support contract which includes time with our team for setup and N|Solid training. Contact Us to build a quote for your Enterprise On-Premise setup.

Connecting to a local N|Solid Console Server

Runtime configuration for a local N|Solid Console Server running in your own network is simply the NSOLID_COMMAND or NSOLID_GRPC network address the N|Solid Console Server is listening on.
